Seven regional weeks, one week off, then the Championship.

8 - 9 UMD Mens Bulldog Hockey vs. Nebraska-Omaha Bulldogs Hockey 7:07PM
9 Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra DSSO 7PM
22 - 23 MN Ballet | Firebird MN Ballet 7PM

The first event with UMD vs. Alabama eliminates the first weekend in March, the second events UMD vs. Nebraska and the Symphony Orchestra eliminate the second week. There is nothing scheduled the third weekend and the fourth weekend is taken up by a Ballet. I have also eliminated the fifth weekend as that is when the 10K Lakes and North Star regional typically occur.

I would like to remind everyone that it sounds like Duluth will be turning into a double regional this year exactly like the Minneapolis double regional. One will take place in the DECC arena and the other in the AMSOIL arena (From what I understand).

I realize it has been previously stated that the events will be taking place during week two but I fail to see where two regionals will take place if there are hockey games and an orchestra playing... I could always be wrong though.

It appears to me that the Duluth Regionals will be taking place from March 14th-16th, or week 3.

I wanted to follow up my previous statement, I was looking up the floor plan at the DECC here and realized that it is still might be possible to host a double during week two. Hockey would take up the AMSOIL arena, the orchestra would be in the Auditorium and the Existing Arena might have the potential to host two fields. I know that the South Pioneer Hall has enough space to hold at least 80 teams in the pit. They also might be able to convert the North Pioneer Hall into something other than Curling fields, but I am not 100% sure about that

I guess we will see in a few weeks when the schedule is finally released.

It appears that the Midwest Regional will not be a Week 1 or Week 2 event, as the UIC mens and womens basketball teams schedules show that they have home games at the Pavilion those weekends.

WOW can anybody relate to cheaspeake regional being in week 7 i find that hard to believe it been week 3 or 4 forever why change it most veterans will turn away if they win other regionals and you only have a week to raise the fund for ST.Loius will be a tough climb for most

Re: 2013 Predicted Events Calendar

Michigan Events (confirmed here):
Week 1-Kettering District
Week 1-Traverse City District
Week 2-Gull Lake District
Week 2-Waterford District
Week 3-Detroit District
Week 3-St. Joseph District
Week 4-West Michigan District
Week 4-Grand Blanc District
Week 5-Livonia District
Week 5-Troy District
Week 7-Michigan State Championship

Same number of District events as last year (10). Niles and Northville Districts don't appear to be happening this year, replaced by District events in St. Joseph and Grand Blanc.

Michigan has grown by 8, 31, and 19 teams over the past three years. With 190 teams, Michigan is roughly 10 teams below the 10-district capacity of about 200 teams, which suggests the possibility that there will need to be an 11th district. We'll have to wait and see.

Re: 2013 Predicted Events Calendar

I just heard that the North Carolina regional has been bumped from week 2 to week 3 by a venue conflict. So *unofficially* North Carolina is week 3.

I guess we won't get to make our 5th appearance at Peachtree since it is also week 3. It looks like Palmetto or Smoky Mountains with Virginia also in week 3.

Unless NC gets moved again.

I was told last year that the Midwest Regional is always held during UIC's spring break (no one else uses the Pavilion that week). According to the UIC Calendar, their Spring Break is March 25-29. I assume this puts the Midwest Regional during Week 5 (March 28-30).

If what I read here is correct, that puts us a week after the Wisconsin Regional which will be better than last year when they were the same weekend. I missed the Wisconsin Regional this year (not that I minded replacing it with the South Florida Regional... first a first year regional they did a GREAT job!)

Re: 2013 Predicted Events Calendar

Please be careful with speculation about dates and locations. Nothing is confirmed until officially announced by FIRST.

If you make plans for your team before FIRST publishes dates, you may end up having to make changes to those plans. It has happened before.

Re: 2013 Predicted Events Calendar

If you go to www.firstchampionshiphousing.com and click on "Regionals" and then select "FRC" from the list, it will show you the list of 2013 regionals whose dates and locations have been confirmed. If you click on a regional it'll tell you the dates and venue. There's a handful that have already been confirmed. I heard that all the MAR events have been confirmed but there's no district events listed as of yet.

Looks like Queen City (housing website) and Wisconsin (venue website) are both on Week 4. That will be an interesting decision for us.

Re: 2013 Predicted Events Calendar

If NCR really gets bumped to week three I'll be so disappointed. I loved the simplicity of the Dorton Arena, the atmosphere, and the variety of teams. 422 can't turn down a regional two blocks from our school in VA, so I can see my old team putting the feelers out for a Week 5 or 6 regional within a few hours of home.

Here is further evidence that the NC regional will be week 3 (14-16 Mar).

This sucks-- VA, NC, and Peachtree will probably be all the same week.
