I don't think Crossroads received a lot of early business because it is in week six. As more teams start to register and realize they missed out on Boiler and then QC and MW fill up (MW is almost there) you will see a lot more interest in Crossroads.
At least this year Indiana teams wont be completely shut out of an Indiana regional.

Skill in software engineering is all about algorithmic understanding and intuition. Implemenation is an important, but ultimately secondary, concern. Programming languages are more or less arbitrary.
