Re: AM SS: CIM motor speed at robot full speed
Seems pretty straight forward -
Speed of S Feet/Sec Total Gear Ratio From the Motor to the Wheel Shaft of N Effective Wheel Diameter D (S Ft/Sec)*(12 in/ft)*(1Rev/PI*D in)*(60 sec/min)*(N Ratio) = Motor Speed in RPM The effective wheel diameter on carpet may be the only unknown, but you can figure that out by rolling the robot one complete wheel revolution and using the distance for PI*D |

Re: AM SS: CIM motor speed at robot full speed
Well there are 3 computer/electrical engineers working on it (my, myself and I) and we have been known to enter spreadsheet stuff incorrectly. We are thinking of getting some custom gears made which would be a disaster if the spreadsheet incorrectly calced the needed ratios. Hence the attempt to get results from other teams for verification. Also it would help with the credibility of my numbers to other team members

Re: AM SS: CIM motor speed at robot full speed
Plus you're in Canada, make sure you calculate the gear ratios in metric
