Northern Virginia Off-Season Event: IROC 2012

Northern Virginia's premiere off-season FRC event is back!
Hosted by: Teams 1885, 2068, and 1731

Let's see who will be Northern Virginia's finest!

Code:
When: November 10th, 2012
Where: Battlefield High School (Haymarket, VA -- 30 miles west of DC)
Price: $150
Game: Rebound Rumble, modified*
Info: Email me (link below), or send me a PM here on ChiefDelphi
As part of our event, we are offering a 2 for 1 discount with Robot Rumble in Richmond Virginia.
$250 gets you entry to both Robot Rumble (October 6th) and IROC (November 10th)! ($50 discount)

Off-season events are a great time to get in some extra low-pressure competition at a very low cost using a robot that's already built. Use it to recruit students, mentors and orient the new-comers to the excitement of competition!

Register | Volunteer | Map | Email
15000 Graduation Drive, Haymarket, VA

Some fine print: Will cap at 24 teams, for now. Rule "Modifications" will be announced soon.

Lies! -- 12 have registered, but Jacob has some work to do to get them updated on the site. We even had to invoice one last night.

Well there you have it. The important thing is that there are still open spots, and alot of excitement brewing. The recommendation still stands, to register early to get the deal for dual registration with Robot Rumble.

Re: Northern Virginia Off-Season Event: IROC 2012

Hey teams. In case you weren't convinced about how awesome IROC was going to be. ILITE is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a toy drive supporting Toys for Tots and a Coat Drive supporting Northern Virginia Family Services or S.E.R.V.E. as commonly referred to by locals.

The teams that donate the greatest number of toys and coats will receive special trophies acknowledging their generosity.

So, if your team signed up, start think about what you can bring to help us give back to the community that helps us put on this fantastic off-season event.

Team Member from RAID 2537,
Just wondering if the rule modifications are coming out anytime soon, since the competition is coming up in about two weeks. Just want some time for strategy:

Team 449 would like to thank every team which loaned us tools and/or parts at IROC. Without your help, we would never have been able to field a working robot.

Re: Northern Virginia Off-Season Event: IROC 2012

449: You are welcome. We were happy to be able to help out another ARL sponsored team. Considering that you started the day with a completely disassembled drivetrain, you did fantastically well.

Thanks to our alliance partners 623 and 2912. Thanks to your splendid playing, we came a hairs breadth away from taking the trophy. What a great series of elimination matches! We look forward to seeing you and hopefully playing with you again soon.

Congratulations to 339, 449 and 1915. Your double balancing prowess served you well.

Also, many thanks to 1885 for hosting a great event. I'm sure we'll be making every effort to return.

Re: Northern Virginia Off-Season Event: IROC 2012

On behalf of all of the volunteers and Team 1885,

We would like to send a big Thank You to all of the teams who came out for IROC 2012. The competition was amazing, exemplified by the number of 3rd matches needed in the final bracket. Congratulations to teams 339, 449, 1915, and 1262 for winning the tournament. And congratulations to 1731, our 2012 "You Rock Award" winners, and 1885 (Coat Drive Award) and 2537 (Toy Drive Award).

And don't forget, together with over 200 baskets scores in both the qualification and elimination rounds, we were able to raise over $1500 to help feed hungry children in Northern Virginia! Great job to everyone.

We look forward to seeing you next year, and welcome any recommendations from any teams for how we can continue to improve the event, and see it grow. (Just send me an email at nathantylerhagan@gmail.com)
