Windchill Workgroup Manager

Hello all,

Can a Windchill user please create a redistributable installer of the Windchill Workgroup Manager for me?
For some reason, I was able to install it just fine from the web on my personal computer, but when we are installing it at our school (with permission), java fails. I have checked the java versions, and they are up to date.

Creating a redistributable on my own computer fails as well.

Thanks,
Daniel D'Souza

Re: Windchill Workgroup Manager

Have you asked the school admins if they have any limitations set on java that might get in your way (possibly to stop gaming in school)?

This is what I had started thinking too. At first I thought that rights would not be a problem, seeing as I re installed JAVA and had admin privileges, but I think you are right.

These computers aren't really controlled by the school admin. They are outside the school's domain (the computer definition of domain), and are specifically for our sponsor's class and robotics.

Re: Windchill Workgroup Manager

The result of the WWM installer generator is a .vbs file. How would I run this? (The error is that the .vbs file does not point to an executable)

PS. The error when trying the online installation is that the thread died.

Re: Windchill Workgroup Manager

Ok, I think I have found the problem.

I did not allow the "create redistributable" task to complete. My first file was only 0.5 GB, but the full installer should be about 1GB.

The process takes some time (2hrs on 45Mbps) to download all the files.

I'll try the installation tomorrow, and let you know of the results.

ok. and a tip for the future: It is considered polite to not make multiple posts in a row (especially right after recently making another post that nobody has responded to). Good Luck and lets hope you won't need it.
