Talons no fans

Of coarse we (team 25) Like to push the limits of any and all items we use on our robots. I have to say we are really impressed with the Talon speed controller so far. We hooked up 4 Talon's to our drives and played an entire event (Ramp Riot) with no fans. We temp the Talon's before each match, right as it came off the field and 10 mins after it came off the field. Here is the results of QF2. All number are in ferinheight

_______Starting____After Match ____10 min cool
Talon 1 73.7________77.7____________74.1
Talon 2 73.4________78.0____________73.6
Talon 3 74.7________78.2 ___________73.8
Talon 4 73.6________78.5 ___________73.7

The Talon was able to reach room temp after a 10 min cool down without any other sources helping. This result repeated every time except in SF match 2 there we only had 5 min cool down from SF1 before going back on the field. At the end of sf 2 the temp on one Talon peaked at 81.1 and after the 10 min cool down it was at 77.8.

Next week we are going to find the best pushing robot at B.E. and see how the talon does after a 2 min intense pushing match. Currently after normal (team 25) wear and tear we are truly impressed with the Talon and it's our favorite so far going into the season (I hope it will be FIRST legal).

As a side note 103 used 885's on their drive's, they are very close to what we have, but their not exact (AKA the wheels). The 885's WITH fans were running 5 to 7 degrees hotter then the talons.
