RobotC communication over Wifi
I am the programmer for a team in the FTC competition. I am trying to use the Samantha module to download and debug programs. I am able to find and connect to the NXT brick through the Communication Link Setup dialog. However, when I try to download a program to the brick, the following errors appear.

Re: RobotC communication over Wifi
Hi, Team 6335 is having this problem now too.
Did you ever figure out what the fix is? Thanks, David Fort FTC/FRC 1001 |

Re: RobotC communication over Wifi
We use BlueTooth for our communications, but how are you doing it?
Do you 1) Have SamoStat installed on the NXT 2) Have the latest firmware installed on your Samantha Module 3) Have the Samantha Module & PC both connected to the same network? Also, when we tried to use Samantha to test last year over Wifi using RobotC, it didn't work period (Team 5257) RobotC has been known to have problems deploying over WiFi. |

Re: RobotC communication over Wifi
RobotC V3.55beta definitely can download over wifi. However you need to enable this on the preferences menu (VIEW/PREFERENCES/ENABLE SEARCHING OVER WIFI). Since this option isn't actually displayed on the COMMUNICATION LINK SETUP page it isn't that ovbious it even exists!

Re: RobotC communication over Wifi
In addition, when first connecting RobotC to your robot you'll have to press the red Samantha button to pair. This is true even though the robot has previously been paired with the FCS on the same PC you're running RobotC.
The Samantha will be continuously cycling through the three LED's RED/WHITE/BLUE/WHITE/RED when it needs to be paired. |

Re: RobotC communication over Wifi
Thanks for the replies.
It isn't our team having trouble, so I can't confirm all the details (e.g. version of Samantha firmware). The attempt is to communicate to Samantha through E1200 wifi router. They are getting the SAME error as the team that opened this thread last spring. WiFi link to NXT brick has failed. Brick may have powered off or out of range. Close this window. Ensure brick is powered on. Wait 5-15 seconds for NXT for WiFi re-initialization and situation may auto-recover. We will see them this weekend at a FTC Scrimmage near Cleveland, and I'll pass along the suggestions so far. Any others? Thanks much. |
