FRC Bumper Question

I know the 2013 season is not here just yet, but my team had a question relating to bumpers.

Referring back to the 2012 season rules, would this be legal?

Are teams allowed to use red and blue velcro for there bumpers. More specifically, the velcro would be visible on the outside of the bumper fabric. The velcro would be a different shade of red and blue, compared to the bumpers. Would this be legal?

During Rebound Rumble, we used blue and red tape to cover a painted logo on our bumpers, and we were allowed to compete. The tape was a different shade of blue and red. Also the tape was visible.

Re: FRC Bumper Question

Um what point and purpose would the Velcro serve?

Re: FRC Bumper Question

We won't know for sure until the 2013 manual is released. We were promised a re-working of the bumper rules for 2013, so looking back at 2012 and earlier may not mean anything.

Is there any proof of this promise for the 2013 season?

This link shows a very similar design to the one we are thinking. The velcro would be at the top though, not in the back.

Re: FRC Bumper Question

Nobody knows anything about the bumper rules until the game comes out. We can guess, we can assume, but until the 2013 game manuel is released, you can't state anything as fact. No one can.

It is legal for 2012. But this by no means means it's legal for 2013.
