FRC Blogged - The FRC Staff

The FRC Staff

Blog Date: Thursday, December 20, 2012 - 10:32

Last night FIRST had its annual holiday celebration. It was a rare chance for us to get together as a group, have some dinner, and have a little fun. Dean was there, and spoke briefly about the importance of our mission, and our part in making it happen. It was a wonderful evening, all the way around.

On my way home – after my normal bedtime, by the way – I was thinking about the FRC Staff. You probably don’t know most of them. Here are their names, in no particular order:

Monica Cyr

Kerry Wentworth

Carla Proulx

Krista Pratt

Lori Burkhamer

Rose Kue

Kate Pilotte

Collin Fultz

Charlie Jacobs

James Rahaim

Harry Robinson

Matt Pilotte

Derek Foster

Zack Morin

Ryan Foley

Kevin O’Connor

Dennis Mitchell

These are some of the finest people I have ever worked with in my career. Not just because of their skill level, but because they care – truly care – about the work they are doing. They could potentially be working at a for-profit company for more green, but I think they are not primarily driven by their paychecks. I think they have a larger purpose.

I’m extraordinarily fortunate to be working with these folks.

I’ll blog again soon

Frank
To the entire FRC Staff - thanks so much for all that you do, we cannot express enough gratitude or appreciation for all of your amazing work.

Re: FRC Blogged - The FRC Staff

I wish the blog had a like button...
It's great to see such a long list of names of people so greatly dedicated to FRC, especially since most of these people aren't well known (to me atleast). I'm happy to have names I can mention when talking about FIRST's work.

If any of you read this, thank you for your dedication and for the amazing work you do! FRC just keeps improving.

Re: FRC Blogged - The FRC Staff

Adding my thanks and well wishes to the staff as well, even though the highlight of the night might have been "Dean was there, and spoke briefly ..." Are you sure it was Dean?

Re: FRC Blogged - The FRC Staff

Thank you to all the folks who work to make FRC happen. I'm in awe at how much they get done with such a small number of staffers. It's also nice to have names to go with FIRST. Sometimes, it too easy to moan and complain about FIRST and we forget there are people working really hard to make what we do happen. Thanks again for all you do!

If you come to a FRC event to see a robot competition, you are missing the point.
