scoring ties

what happens if there is a tie? currently, the total score in one round can be 110 points:

60 balls x 1 point = 60 points
3 goals x 10 points = 30 points
4 robots x 10 points = 40 points
total = 130

so if both teams score 65 points (half of 130), then what happens?

and when i say tie.. i mean that all the tiebreakers in the rules are equal.. everything is equal:

no warnings/penalties
two robots in the end zone
one goal in zone
30 balls (which means equal number on each side of the field)

for a total of 60 points each team. 65 just doesnt seem feasible

so from the rules:

TieBreakers:
1. Least penalties or warnings - NOT PASSED (equal)
2. Most balls in scoring position - NOT PASSED (equal)
3. Most goals in scoring position - NOT PASSED (equal)
4. Most robots in scoring position - NOT PASSED (equal)
5. Most balls on other side of field - NOT PASSED (equal)

So what happens now?

Red face

Actually the Highest you can get in one round is 132. Most you can score between 2 teams is 130. one team gets 66 and the other 64 then 3x64=132>

Yes, our team took a good few minutes arguing over what the highest point score was. This is the first time they've seen the 3x losing score method, and it took some time to get used to.

No, the highest score you can get is 195.

Because it is possible to get an even split in the score, one team haveing 65 and the other having 65, then utilising the the tie-braker system, which, everything being even, would go down to the most goals on one side (cause there are only three goals). Then 65X3=195.

That would be a real interesting match as well.

Another tie question. In the very first match of the first regional the time runs out with no movement taking place. The robots are still in their original position and the human players do not attempt to score any points by themselves. What breaks this 20/20 tie? A flip of a coin? I am aware that this scenario is as close to impossible as it get, but its still a scenario.

and another possibility to my scenario.. where everything is equal. i would assume that everyone receives 0 points here though.. 3x0 = 0.

yes, i made a calculation error. i admit that.

but i see now that no person has an answer or an idea to my original (post #2) scenario, where EVERYTHING is equal, so all the tie-breakers fail the test.

No. 10 points is added to an alliances score for each robot in their starting positions at the end of a match. 2 robots in starting positions * 10 = 20.

390 score

Actually according to SC10 - 3 of the game rules, "If an alliance is disqualified, the other alliance receives triple the winning
alliances score in QPs" In the event that your team got every point possible and the other team was disqualified while in your zone it would be possible to get 130 x 3 = 390 points. Hehe, I'd love to see this fluke happen, but I somehow HIGHLY doubt it

Good point on SC10.

For a non-disqualified match, the highest score could be 252. This is if all four robots were touching both home zones at the end.

Blue: 2 goals, 4 robots, 24 balls, 84 points
Red: 1 goal, 4 robots, 35 balls, 85 points

QP Blue: 84
QP Red: 252
