The girl I took to my school's homecoming and to the movies once (she's on 179)...and no we aren't going out yet....I've asked once (the FIRST and only girl) and she said no. We're both rather busy with IB schoolwork and robotics of course so neither one of us has time to devote to a long distance relationship. Maintaining a friendship that's right on the edge of going out (in a way) is tough as it is. But I took that chance...and its been a very interesting two years (well, this March) that I've known her. Also, definately go places (not necessarily steady) like me with someone you share a few common things. Despite our grade level differences (I'm in 12th, she's in 11th...but only 7 months and 3 days older...had to do explaining to parents) its actually a pretty good relationship (we could never get angry at one another) and love to be together, talk, write....but most importantly...it better be being together someplace. Last, it helps if the person's parents likes you....its a bit easier to go do stuff together (even if its as lame as walking up and down the pit area at the Championship). she maybe a blonde but she's highly intelligent...its an interesting as there are many dumb blonde jokes out there. Maybe the jokes on us.

IB........
My school has both IB and AP class offerings. I don't see the difference in them except the grades are weighted in IB and you have to take tests after every year. That is the only things that is different in my school.
I'm not giving relationships a bad rep, I'm just asking the guys what their opinions are on the whole seeing their chick every day five hours a day. I would love to be in a relationship where U could be treated like a person and not an object and carry on a normal conversation about nothing and be so interested that I smile through the whole thing. That is a great feeling to call someone and be able to smile the whole conversation even though they are 5 hours away (okay alittle over six with normal driving speeds). |

IB is the International Baccalaureate program. Schools are evaluated before they are permitted to start to offer the program. IB is the last two years of high school and culminates in the extended essay (1500 words), internal and external examinations (external = tests rated a 1 to 7 unlike AP 1-5, internal - teacher evaluates your work) and a bunch off stuff too complicated to explain here. Its a world recognized program started by diplomats. Why? Because the children of diplomats shifted from assignment to assignment and when they went back to the mother country they could not go on to college. The reasoning was they didn't have a high school diploma or its equivalent in that country. If you get the IB diploma (what the program's all about) by meeting the various requirements, you can attend out of high school, ANY college or university in the world as they would accept the IB diploma as the equivalent of one from a school in their country. To go to a college overseas, like OXFORD in England, you need a college degree first. IB and AP are like we hate one another but colleges look better on IB as it is a very vigorous program. The workload is much heavier than AP in that the requirements differ. But some parts of IB are in the dark ages....the PURE pesudocode for IB computer science is pascal with a few changes. Now who remembers programming in Pascal?????
I personally must say that "seeing their chick 5 hours a day" is a very male chauvinistic pig-like statement. I would rather be viewed as a gentleman in the first place. Now, I would not mind seeing Pamela (everyone says we're a couple...she's also on 179) 5 hours a day. We have done that outside of robotics... movie and dinner as well as homecoming...but a lot of time we've spent together is at robotics competition (its even more time together if our teams are staying at the same hotel....I just dash to make it back to my room right before curfew after saying goodnight). "I would love to be in a relationship where U could be treated like a person and not an object and carry on a normal conversation about nothing and be so interested that I smile through the whole thing. That is a great feeling to call someone and be able to smile the whole conversation" - Shelley_delphi chick (thought I'd note what I'm responding to) Pamela and I personally we already do that even through we are staying as friends (not dating....but we have gone out to places). That's how I knew I really cared about her as I found I was completely at ease, comfortable talking about anything with her. We never fight/argue and nothing could ever make us mad/angry with one another. Its is a great feeling to be able to see/talk to someone and never break a simile you put on your face the moment you hear the other person's voice. Its a beautiful thing. To those who don't know by now (I wonder nowadays of who doesn't) just read my previous post in this thread. |

*sigh*i just wrote a long response, and it deleted it all!!! ok, we have AP, not IB. difficulty and time depend on the class and teacher.
I agree with whoever said that you should marry your best friend. that applies to dating, too, i think. the sweetest thing i ever heard was when a man who was presenting to a group of teens at my camp said i don't think my wife is as beautiful as the day i married her - she's more beautiful. date & marry someone you'll never get tired of. you'll both get old and ugly, but if you're best friends & in love, you won't notice it. *sigh* i'm a hopeless romantic, so i have an enormous list of what i want, but i think that my earlier response was too long, and that's why it got mad at me, so i'll end this here. best pick up line - so how do you say your name? stacia |
