2013 Alamo Regional

So Since the other threads are started, Alamo, who's going? I see that there are only 13 teams signed up right now (as of 9/30/12). Who else is planning on going that hasn't signed up yet? I know a lot of teams who have come in the past have picked other events first but are still attending.

I know my team (2158) will be attending.

Alamo is always excited to host many out of state (and out of country!) teams. Please let us know if there is anything I and the rest of the Alamo Regional planning crew can do to help you have a great trip.

Additionally, the team I mentor - ausTIN CANs, FRC Team 2158 out of Austin, TX - will be competing with you at both Alamo and Orlando. I know that our team would love to get to know you all while in Florida and welcome you to our home regional!

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

Team 3997 is hosting a event on:

Come join fellow FTC and FRC teams at
Robot Fiesta!
Fiesta is one of America’s truly great festivals that began as a way to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto.

Over the past century Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures and includes numerous events.

This year we wish to host a private new event, the Robot Fiesta!

Details, details...
$20 per team member prior to the event (chaperones will be free and required for each group attending).

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

8 pm - 11:30pm in La Villita

$25 per team member at the door (chaperones will be free and required for each group attending).

If you have any more questions please feel free to contact me thought cd or on our website at http://www.screamingchickens.org/robot-fiesta.html

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

2789 is still ecstatic, in shock/disbelief, and running on adrenaline over the past few weeks. We are PSYCHED and pumped for Alamo and will be unleashing a mechanism we've been working on for the past couple of weeks that gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!

We're excited that our fellow Hub City Finalist alliance partners 4063 will be coming, they were a blast to play with, and we're also excited to see Hub City Chairman's Award Winning 2468 again, their cross-court shooter is a beautiful machine! Coach Norm's team is a class act, and we wouldn't have been able to compete in Hub City without their help. This week at Lone Star, we got to see 624, 1429 & 1477 in action, and look forward to seeing them again, as well.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing 57 & 2587 again. I've always loved both your teams, and have a great deal of respect for your kids, mentors, and robots, and I can't wait to see what your teams accomplish at Alamo!

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

All I have to say is that with the talent coming to Alamo, there better be some wildcard slots being generated. Unless of course the regional win goes to an unlikely alliance of teams that previously came SO CLOSE to pulling of a regional win themselves.

Also, we've got plans and schemes for some improved accuracy and mobility, so I suggest everyone else bring their A games. Or their B games and willingness to accept help from a visiting team, cause we're weird like that.

Ya know...a TEXplosive Dancing Leopard alliance for the win would be epic

I know 1429, 2468 and our team have already qualified...does anyone know if there are other teams that have qualified this season and could potentially create a wildcard slot at Alamo?

So far, those are the only 3 teams that have qualified. 1477, 624 and 1987 all have one event before Alamo and could create some more.

I was under the impression only competition-merit based awards dropped down to wildcard. So only event winners would pass down, not chairmans/EI.RAS/etc?
