"Twas the night before kickoff

'Twas the night before kickoff, and all through the shop
Not a FIRSTer could sleep as it has come to a stop.
The AndyMark products were sad at the chance of being replaced by Vex Pro
Knowing that this year, they might have to go.

The children were nestled, all snug in their beds
While visions of water games danced in their heads.
And the GDC with their “hints”, and Frank with his blog,
Gave us a chance to guess the game covered with fog.

Over in Manchester, there was such a clatter,
We all sprang up, to see what was the matter.
Away to kickoff, we got there just before the seats were all filled,
Waiting to see the field that they would soon build.

The baskets and bridges, put to rest.
Giving room to build a new robot to test.
When what to my eyes should appear,
But a animation created by Dave Lavery.

The threes had a no reason,
The Rick-Rolling was just treason.
Away with the tubes! Away with the poofball!
Go away! Go away! Go away all!

We rushed to read the manual, to know all the rules,
So that we could build with all our shiny tools.
We were all reminded of FIRST mission.
Good luck, and we’ll see you at the competition.
