Classmate image thumb drive

Wasn't the KOP supposed to contain a thumb drive with the 2013 image on it or was I reading old information from last year?

Re: Classmate image thumb drive

If you look at the 2013 Rookie / Veteran KOP Variation page only rookie teams get a USB key with an image, and "2013 Images will be available prior to Kickoff via download for the E09 and E11 Classmates." Over on the 2013 Technical Resources it has a link for files and instructions on how to make a USB restoration key for a Classmate under the Driver Station Header. Hope this helps!

Re: Classmate image thumb drive

That does help. We are already burning the image file off a restoration key to the classmate (since we didn't find a thumbdrive in our KOP) but it wasn't clear if that image is just Windows 7 or Windows 7 plus LabView. Assuming it includes LabView (will know when it finishes shortly).

It's just a little odd (I'm a rookie mentor) to see National Instruments include a LabView image in a Windows operating system for First Robotics and host it off an Intel website...and it has all the proper licensing...

But I guess that's what it is.

Re: Classmate image thumb drive

Yeah, in prior years all teams have revived a USB key for the proper model Classmate, but that was when there were only 2 models. There are three this year, so I guess it makes more sense. And there were image versions for the classmate as just a driver station (no labview and such) and with development software (for the 09 model [given in 2009] there are 4, one for driver station and each of the development enviroments for C++, Java, and labVIEW). It is strange, but it works so I won't question it. Glad I could be of help.

Re: Classmate image thumb drive

The downside is the site that is hosting the Classmate images is still showing a 509: Bandwidth Exceeded error message.

I reported to FRCTEAMS on Saturday, hopefully action will be taken soon to correct the problem.

Re: Classmate image thumb drive

Sadly, the Classmate image download link is still showing the

"509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded"

error. I just double checked again now, Tuesday Jan 8th, 9:30 a.m.

We have two Classmates to configure:

1. An E09 we've used the past few seasons
2. An E11 we bought late last year.

For the E09, I think it would be OK to just install the Labview Utilities and Driver Station software. No real need to reimage that one. (Right?)

For the E11, I think we're stuck. Rookie teams got E12s this year, so their USB key isn't useful for us. Is there any mirror site for the E11 Classmate image?

Any ETA or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
