Image Display on Smart DashBoard.

Hello. I am trying to use the smart dashboard to display raw camera data and vision tracking code. I have a question about doing so: Is there a built in widget that would do so for me or would i have to write my own code?

Re: Image Display on Smart DashBoard.

I don't see any instructions for it yet, but last year you needed to use the installer to get the image component and I see a new installer has been posted here: http://firstforge.wpi.edu/sf/frs/do/.../frs.installer

Last year's installed the SmartDashboard to it's own directory in Program Files and added a "camera" or similar option to the "Add" menu item in the dashboard.

Re: Image Display on Smart DashBoard.

Ok. I did the instllation and it still didn't have the option when I ran the driver station. It appears that it does not change the dashboard that it targets when you run the setup.exe, so I have to run the jar file manually. I did exactly that and added a camera. I got a block saying no connection and ensured that the ip was correct. Due to the properties menu including a reference the the camera ip itself, I will temporarily assume that the code ran automatically when you added a camera widget.

My question is: was I correct in my assumption? Do I have to write any code on the robot to send the camera data? Do I have to maybe do some kind of setup on the camera to allow smartdashboard to access it?

Sorry for the long post.

Re: Image Display on Smart DashBoard.

You need to enable anonymous access on the camera in addition to the "normal" setup. See this page for details: http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/...an-axis-camera

Re: Image Display on Smart DashBoard.

Sorry for the late reply. I did that and I still had no connection. I then decided to run he exe instead of the jar and it magically worked. Don't know what happened but it works. Thanks for the help.
