Pneumatic Cylinder Requirements

I have just gone through the pneumatic section of the rule book (4.10) and can not find where it tells you the maximum diameter allowed for a Cylinder? I am looking to see if it would be legal to use a 2.5" cylinder. Could someone please enlighten me as this will be very helpful in our design process.

Re: Pneumatic Cylinder Requirements

I do not remember seeing a maximum diameter either, so I would assume that there is NOT a maximum diameter.

But a 2.5" diameter cylinder will take a long time to move from one end to the other, especially at the pressures we use in FRC. Just so you know. It may be better to use 2-3 smaller diameter cylinders if you need speed.

Re: Pneumatic Cylinder Requirements

Thank you very much for your answer. I am just trying to weigh our options for volume, power, speed, etc. and will take your suggestion into thoughtful consideration
