How far is your team on the building process. Right now we have a manual prototype made by one of the engineers here. It is quite nice and works great!

We have our frame all cut up and ready to bolt together...until we realized the brackets for the 80/20 we have dont have wide enough slots...and we werent at our machine shop today, so we couldnt mill them...so we dont have anything =(
we have wheels, shafts, mounting tabs, and sprockets for our drive, which will be assembled thursday night(minus shifting assembly) Cory |

We have our design, base, transmisson and everything designed, all we have to do is machine a few parts, and put it all together. Our base was running around but we took it all apart to add the second transmission. The 8020 comes in tomorrow and we will cut it all out and assemble it tusday! We should be almost done by the end of the week!
WE ROCK! Animation is going good too as well as everything else! ![]() |

It's really up and down for us. We cut all the lower chassis pieces twice today (don't ask why) and assembled it. Our 8 pillow blocks fpr the axles are almost done being machined. We have a 1/3 ramp (one side only) and platform built (no mesh of hdpe). We will be ordering wheels, couplers, sprockets and bearings on Tuesday (1/21). We got the robot (last years) to go straight turn 90 straight turn 90 and straight autonomously. Almost everything is pretty much designed down to each part and its dimensions
Oh, and students are doing 100% of the work. Last edited by sanddrag : 19-01-2003 at 21:26. |

I am a junior, and four of us (all juniors) spent Thursday in one of our basements. There, we built a wood mockup of the frame (we are waiting on our 80/20) and built motor mounts and pneumatic mounts and assembled our pneumatic system and laid everything out.
For the record, our robot's frame and arms will be 80/20, and some of the boards inside will be sheetmetal or aluminum, but lots of it (motor mounts for the CIMs, pneumatic mounts, etc.) will be wood. And some of that wood has been decorated by some of my teammates (while I wasn't looking) so if you look at our CIM mounts you will be able to see the words 'Death Machine' and little crudely drawn monsters. I think It is great. I love wood. Ooo, and we have this nice luon peice of wood for mounting our electronics too, its nice. |

Most of our parts are designed and we have our frame built. Our tracks won't arrive for another 2 weeks

We have drawings for our base, and we have tested a couple of new drive ideas. Our 'accessory' items have been prototyped and tested. We need to finish up concepts and ideas, and start putting things together.

The chassis is more or less done, the drive train just needs to attach the chain, our stacker is ready for assembly, and our electronics are all mapped out.
Go us! |

We have designed our main chassis, and built a slightly skewed to-scale cardboard rendition of it. The whole chassis was put into Rhino, where we got dimensions for everything, and now we're starting to split up into subsystems while our frame gets cut/welded.

we are in the fun and exciting prototyping stage. But soon we should begin the actual manufacturing of our robot.

Team 61 has finished their robot and is running it. the only problem now is to program it. It looks like we have 3 1/2 weeks to do this.
