People still don't really expect it. And being a brony back then wasn't as fun as it is now. You didn't have such a huge fan base, and it kind of felt like it was you against the world. Now, it just feels so much more awesome knowing you have such a huge group of people to fall back on. I'd say this kind of large fandom started around BronyCon '12, but that's just my opinion. In any event, age doesn't really matter. If you're a brony now, you've been in the herd forever!

Also, on a completely different note: Does anyone have any ideas for good autonomous programs? My team is just starting the basic target centering stuff, and we got kind of stuck.

You started it? You're ahead of us! Our build and electronics are weeks ahead of past years, but our programming's is all rookie programmers, including myself, so I'm teaching myself and 5 or 6 others to do everything. Luckily, the guy that programmed the past four years became a mentor, and I have easy contact with him. Right now I'm teaching myself to program for two cameras at once, as we plan to have multiple. Actually, I just finished installing LabView here at home to program with. Good luck to you! Sounds like we both may need it!

EDIT: We did start the basic code, just haven't really done anything past it. I still need to make sure my basic code's all good, including a check from our programming mentor.

Multiple cameras? Like in... depth perception? *SQUEE* I wish my team was doing that! Sounds epic! Are you coding in Java, C++, LabView? My team's kind of rife with disorganization right now, so I'd be happy to help! Possibly an alliance/code collaboration thing?

Sigh, even I can't program camera tracking and we've got people on here doing crazy things with TWO cameras?! :3 You're all so smart.

Anywho, this is about as much progress as we have on our bot right now.

I've never done anything with the camera before, and we plan to have two, sooooo I'm having to teach myself quite a lot. Yeah, I'll need luck on my side...

Also, we should have our robot in that state come the end of this week, besides programming... I need to organize my crew and start getting crap together.

We use LabView. It isn't exactly depth perception, both cameras are viewing different things for a different purpose. I just hope I can learn enough and code enough come competition.

You'll find out that multiple cameras can be your greatest ally if you have the determination to really make sure they are fine-tuned. They were the reason our team was able to win the Seattle (Seaddle?) Olympic Regional last year (along with our amazing triple balance).

May the cameras be with you.

How did you get your robot to be that agile?

Also what is everyone planning on doing with two cameras?

I'd love to see the code for that! Is there any chance I could have a look?

Discord apparently came to visit my team and it's actually pretty disorganized right now, and work has come to a near standstill on the programming end. I'd be happy to help with your code, as I'm currently doing this with my team: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5...qq2vo1_500.png

So, how can I help?

This will be our first year doing anything with cameras... As of now it seems like it's going to be a competition to see whether the rest of the team can have the hardware done before we have the programming figured out. (then they can nag us about it... )

Re: BRONY THREAD

Okay guys, I think I can use a hand from the multitude of you offering. To add a second camera, would I need to just copy pasta the camera items in Begin.vi and Vision Processing.vi? If that's correct, how do I edit the dash to show the second camera? I'm a bit stuck right now, and the teams programming mentor isn't in at the moment. I'll probably be able to ask him soon, but even he seemed a bit unsure of how to have multiple cameras, and he was our programmer for the past four years. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Also! Episode tomorrow! DISCORD!

The robot uses the KOP belts system modified to work with CIM-PLE Boxes. It's running on concrete so its slightly more slick than it should be and it's able to turn easier that way, but we'll see how it does on capret with full weight.

Two cameras bring about multiple advantages esp if you can't see all the way down the field and you have a frisbee you need to pick up, to vision tracking on the targets on the goals. If I am able to get two working, I would have one possibly in a position that would help me align the robot for climing.

I don't know exactly how to do this, so I may not be of much help here, and I'm sure there are more out there with more experince than me in vision tracking and LabView, but I'll try to do something similar to this tonight (possibly play around with driver station to fit my needs i.e.- another tab for camera viewing, or two windows for the cameras) and report back to you if I get something working. I'm sure plenty of reading and searching is ahead of me tonight :3.

Also Discord/Shy Shipping All Around after this Ep.? XD

Alright, thanks. I'll be doing research tonight for this as well. I think I may make a topic later in the programming/LabView section. That'll be in a little bit. So yeah, maybe we can chat about it sometime. (Add me on Skype if you'd like: Devintheroaster) Good luck with whatever research you do, and good luck this year with your bot!

Oh gosh, don't doubt it! xD Meghan McCarthy (Her name is something like this, if I typed it wrong.), a writer of MLP posted on Twitter how Discords voice actor is going to say something that will destroy the internet. #Speculation #inb4ucanthashtag #inb4opcantinb4

Really though, what could break the internet? xD
