Merchandise Question

How many giveaway items are recommended for a team who has never done them before?

How many giveaway items does your team do?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum to post in or if this topic has already been discussed.

Re: Merchandise Question

It depends on how much money you are willing to spend, we usually bring enough of an item so that way each team can get 10 of them minimum so basically number of teams at the regional*10 is what we do

Re: Merchandise Question

If you are looking at buttons figure more. There are many teams who have family with children come visit and they enjoy going to all the pits and collecting their buttons.

Re: Merchandise Question

Buttons are always good. Make as many as reasonable, but if you run out, oh well. A few hundred is a good starting point.

Some teams give out other trinkets like key chains or similar doo-dads. One year we gave out pencils. All with the team info on it, of course.

Whatever the budget allows.

Re: Merchandise Question

People love our light up badger paws. We can never get enough, so we save them for Saturday and give out wristbands on Thursday/Friday.

Re: Merchandise Question

We give out buttons, and usually have between 500-1500 per regional, depending on how many we can make before the regional. This year we also found a bulk supplier of miniature frisbees that we're giving out. Bought some cases of 500 that we'll give out.

Re: Merchandise Question

How do you justify the cost of buttons, to teams who order theirs online. Our two regionals have a total of 93 teams combined (with 1 repeating team, go 772!), and I've read that you should account for about 10 buttons/team. Roughly 1000 buttons costs about $200.

In the grand scheme of things it isn't much money, but $200 is $200.

EDIT: Does anyone have suggestions for an online button site, preferably in Canada? This website seems decent.

Mini frisbees. Very cool. I wish 2410 was going to different regionals than we are so we could steal that idea.
