Re: General motor difficulties
Questions. Yes some of them are stupid, but you'd be surprised how many stupid mistakes I've made over the years. Sometimes you're looking for a complex problem when it's something simple. So: - Have you successfully imaged your cRIO?
- Do you have the modules plugged into the cRIO in the correct order? The cRIO Imaging Tool will tell you if it's correct. Should be something like 9201, 9403, then 9472.
- Is your robot enabled?
- What pattern is your Robot Signal Light blinking? (Or the RSL LED on the Sidecar) Is should be long on - short off if you're enabled in Teleop.
- Do you have 12V power wired to your Sidecar?
- Is the cable to your Sidecar wired backwards? There were lots of backwards ones last year. Pin 1 on the male side should connect to Pin 1 on the female side.
- Are you plugging in your PWM cables correctly? Black should go to the outside of the Sidecar, the inside of the Victor 884, and towards the brake/coast jumper on the Jaguar.
- Last and silliest, are you sure you're plugging it into the correct PWM port? I've seen motor PWMs plugged into Relay ports and Digital IO ports before, after all.
