Exclamation cRIO NOT WORKING

Our cRIO is not turning on.

Problem: Power from Battery -> PD board -> 24V into the power connector to the cRIO all works. We've tested Volts and Ohms on input and output to the cRIO. The power supply is fine up UNTIL it goes Through the cRIO power connector onto the PCB (Printed circuit board). After that, we get none of the LEDs lighting up, no lights; signal or connector; for the Ethernet port, and the CMOS 3V battery is still running at 3V. There is no Voltage output on the 5V marking on the PCB. The fuse isn't blown either.

cRIO Module: NI cRIO-FRC
Issued: 2010-2011 build season.
On the PCB, the reverse-side has discoloration and it looks like something MAY have shorted something or another. It looks to be water damage or metal burning, but I can't be sure.

Re: cRIO NOT WORKING

Found our problem. We overlooked it sooooo many times. The polarities were reversed. We're all good now!

I'm not so sure. I can't remember if the cRIO has reverse voltage protection or not.

Re: cRIO NOT WORKING

Since the incident, the cRIO hadn't malfunctioned any, so I'm assuming it does have reverse voltage protection and we're still rolling smoothly.

Re: cRIO NOT WORKING

I know your problem is solved, this is more a possible solution for those people who have similar issues and switching polarities doesn't work work.

I pen up the casing and check the integrated fuse, its next to the power terminals on the crio's board. You cant just look at it, you would actually have to check it with an ohmmeter or continuity tester. If that's the problem, you can solder on a new fuse and it would still be first legal
