Quation How to calculate the cylinder
How to calculate the retracted and extended length of a cylinder for our Robot if we use one cylinder for climping abore
Force = Pressure x cylinder area I read FIRST Robotics Team 358, Hauppauge, NY Pneumatics for Newbies Designing a Pneumatic Solution, Leverage Force = Cylinder Force x sine(applied angle) |

Re: Quation How to calculate the cylinder
Force = Pressure x Area
Force = Pressure in PSI x Area in Square Inches Force = Pounds So essentially when you multiply your PSI pressure by the area of the cross section of the cylinder you'll get the force in pounds. Find how much force you need, in pounds, and go from there. The cylinder with the larger bore (diameter) yields larger force. |

Re: Quation How to calculate the cylinder
I found This worksheet PneuMoment® Sizing Spreadsheet
http://www.bimba.com/Library/#Tools assist in calculating PneuMoment's load carrying capabilities. It performs the calculations shown under - "Application Consideration" for PneuMoment. The worksheet uses some of the calculated values to perform other Load carrying calculations. Also This worksheet performs the calculations in Metric measures. |
