We used this method at the 2012 Israeli Regional and passed inspection just fine. It worked great and was very easy to switch the colors.
if you plan on using one bumper piece to circle the robot than plan the cornres and how the fabric will "bend". Take time to really plan it before you manufacture it.. Video of the switching
