The compressors don't like starting when there is pressure in the system: They stall instead. Once they've started, 8 A is a good figure for the draw. When we had the previous controllers (in the BUD NEMA box) we placed a dump valve in the system, so the compressor always started into low pressure - and never even blew a 20 A fuse - and we could use a (supplied in the controller) relay instead of a costly motor speed controller. I think that was 98. Many teams asked if they could use the controllers to solve the problem. It is still a valid solution. |
