7z Error during classmate image restoration
Hello, We are trying to use RMPrepUSB v.2.1.648 to create a disk image for our E11 classmate. When using RMP it comes up with an error '7z error - extraction of files failed!' We are using the file E11_DEV_2013_271212.7z and have 7z installed.
We don't know what to try next. Any ideas? |

Re: 7z Error during classmate image restoration
Can you verify that the file you downloaded is the correct size. The download may have been interrupted.
E09-DRV = 4.12 gb E09-LV = 5.11 gb E09-C++ = 4.53 gb E09-Java = 4.42 gb E11-DRV = 3.97 gb E11-DEV = 6.31 gb E12-DRV = 3.79 gb E12-DEV = 6.32 gb Can you open the file in 7-zip? |

Re: 7z Error during classmate image restoration
That seems to be the problem. I can only download 4.13gb of the 6gb file. Tried a couple times now....... not able to get more than 4 gigs.....?

Re: 7z Error during classmate image restoration
That's probably a file system limit.
4GB is the maximum file size for a FAT32 file system. Larger files just get cut off at the maximum. You need to be downloading it to storage that uses the latest NTFS. Most USB sticks for instance, come preformatted with FAT32, so don't try to download onto one of them without first reformatting the stick as NTFS. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 29-01-2013 at 16:21. |
