Re: Favorite Motor?

Currently the CIMs. But I will have agree with the Globe motors; those were champs. I horded as many as I could when I was a student.

Re: Favorite Motor?

Personally I'd have to say the BAG motor. It has a lot of applications, and can be used in situations where two smaller motors would usually be used.

I'm not sure I follow. In what ways is it superior to many of the other 500 series motors we have (FP/AndyMark 9015, Banebots 550, etc.)?

It's less power dense, so whereas we've smelled some from our 550 on our shooter, we haven't smelled any some from the BAGs

Re: Favorite Motor?

Gimme a CIM first (any variety except the Big CIM from '06 and '07--too heavy), then an FP motor with standard gearbox, then a BaneBots 775 or AM 9015 with PG-71 attached. After those, a Globe motor. Fill in the rest of the BB lineup and I think that's about it.

For specialist applications, van door and window motors may move above the others, but it's gotta be a pretty special application, especially one where the others won't work without some form of special gearbox mod.

Re: Favorite Motor?

I'm on board with the BAG motor this year. Its a 550 without all the problems of a 550.

Re: Favorite Motor?

I have to say for the last 4 years it has been the CIM but my new favorite is the Mini CIM, I love those things so much, especially on Frisbee shooters
Also, this seems like a perfect place to post this picture of a few orders that came in in the last week...

Re: Favorite Motor?

The globe motor, those things were amazing.
Also the Fisher Price, all the RPMs in the world

Re: Favorite Motor?

Am I the only one who likes the 775? Yes, I know it has had problems with case shorts, but it has the thermal mass of a large motor and the power of a 550. Lots of power from a BaneBots motor without the threat of overheating. It also just feels like a pig of a motor when you hold it in your hand.
