You've got them all! Thought we would use a random selection. This could be changed every year, there is so much material. Good work on Metropolis!

Cool concept for a shirt though
Ya, the order was determined by the colour of box in the background. It's a balance thing. The dates were added later. Will take that into consideration next time.

Re: pic: Rookie Team 4525 t-shirt design!!

Robbie the Robot is from the movie Forbidden Planet (and was used in many subsequent movies).

The one on Lost In Space was the "B-9 Environmental Control Robot", usually just called "Robot". You can see them both at the same time here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOt3oPd2QH4

So, when will you start excepting orders!?? I'll take a medium! Love the design!

What color shirt is this going on, and what order are you printing? I would guess black shirts, printing white then blue then red... But looking at the blown up picture, even that arrangement seems highly unlikely to work well.

TLDR; I'd recommend running this by a graphic designer that works often with screen printed t-shirts. He'd likely have some useful suggestions that will make it more likely you'll be happy with how the shirts come out.
Just thought I'd bring this back up. It's a valid concern that should be looked into before going to the printer.

I thought I'd run the design by my brother, a professional graphic designer who's designed some of 57's coolest shirts. His comments:
Quote:
The only tough part is the lost in space robot. There's so many ultra fine lines around the "neck" that I think they'd just bleed together.

The thing about black shirts is that it takes 2 at least one pass of white ink underneath everything so the color doesn't come out dull. Like a base coat. In terms of everything else, a good print shop is staffed by professionals, they'll make anything look good and even make recommendations to guarantee a good outcome, but superfine lines that are really close together might get lost just from the ink absorbing into the fabric (or a shifty screen printer would just print it bad and blame it on the designer). I'd just take the neck area and make it a solid shape.
My best advice is to take a full size printout to the print shop and ask, "Will this work? Will this be hard to pull off? What can I do to ensure as few misprints as possible?" Again, a good printer will have a conversation and provide advice, it's extremely beneficial and educational to young designers to meet and respect the people who make their designs happen, just like engineers and machinists.

I plan on simplifying the neck of the Lost in Space bot. These are vector graphics I drew and I work closely with the screen printer who is a friend of mine. Before teaching I was a graphic designer for ten years. You are correct being concerned, if this was a jpeg or other format there would be issues but traps and colour will not be a problem. Will post when we get them screened.

Yes you are correct, I had drawn Robbie for the shirt and my laptop died! The backup file did not have him so he was omitted but still stuck in my brain. Next time I will include him.
