Jaguar Help!

We need help! We have connected the driver to the robot, but the jaguar blinks yellow, meaning that the code isn't appearing to be connected. Oh, and one of the jaguars aren't working at all. Does anyone know how to fix it or get it to work?

Re: Jaguar Help!

On your driver station, there should be three diagnostic lights towards the bottom of the screen: Communication, Robot Code, and Joysticks. All three should be green. If one of them is red, that's a good clue as to your biggest problem.

Another good diagnostic is the Robot Signal Light. What pattern is it flashing in?

Also, the Jaguars will flash until you click the enable button and enable your robot. That's normal.

For the one Jaguar that's not lighting up, are you sure you have power connect to it and to the correct terminals? And are you sure you have a breaker installed in the Power Distribution Board for the terminals the Jaguar is connected to. The easiest way to check all this is to use a multimeter to measure the voltage across the V+ V- terminals on the Jaguar.

Re: Jaguar Help!

On the one that blinks yellow, make sure the PWM cable is properly seated and in the correct orientation (i.e same wire is connected to signal on both the Jag and the Sidecar). As for the one that's not working, there may be some metal debris inside of it causing a short. You could take it apart and check, but typically we just consider Jags that don't light up to be a lost cause.

Re: Jaguar Help!

One more thing to check.....make sure you have the limit switch jumpers installed. Without those, the Jag will never give the motor voltage.
