What's the most important thing for new Teams to remember?

Programming isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. It has a steep learning curve like math. One day your trying to figure out 1 1, then the next day they throw x and y at you. I am also sure that there is the "TechnoKat Handbook" in the white papers section here.....it may be useful for a rookie team, and it gives you an idea how we go about it....
