How to start a FLL team
This is a little out of the ordinary, but another message board I frequent has a question on starting a FLL team. I don't have any significant experience with FLL, so if anyone here is one of the "Teeming Millions" of the Straight Dope, here is the thread. Thanks.

Re: How to start a FLL team
Have them contact the senior mentor for the area, that is what we are here for. Contact info for Senior Mentors can be found here: http://www.usfirst.org/community/vol...mentor-program Alternately they can also contact the FLL partner for the area which can be found here: http://www.usfirst.org/regional-contacts or just send them to this page http://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge/startateam

Re: How to start a FLL team
Thanks for the info Mr V -- I've passed on the info but the parent seems to be backing out due to time constraints and lack of assistance. He/she had tried contacting some FLL people before but they never responded. I sent an email to Nathan Knauss (the NJ Senior Mentor) yesterday -- I realize it's a volunteer position and wasn't expecting a quick response (and the whole northeast shut down because of a little snow), but I hope some day to get someone to contact this parent with some encouragement.

Re: How to start a FLL team
At this point most of the Senior Mentors are focused on helping FRC teams and Nathan, like many Senior Mentors is a mentor for a FRC team, so his plate is likely pretty full right now. If you don't get a response within a few days after bag day please send him another E-mail. If you still don't get a response send me a PM here and I'll see what I can do.
