For the Victor 888 motor controllers...

Can we simply attach the fans the the bottom of the victor?

Also

Can we attach a huger fan to cool everything on the robot by attaching it to a motor controller?

It may sound a bit confusing -.- I know

Sorry about that.

1. Can we attach the small fan that cools the Vex Pro Victor 888 to the power input of said motor controller or does the fan need to be attached directly to the power distribution board?

2. Likewise, can we attach a larger fan, to say a Jaguar motor controller input (which already has a built in fan), to cool the robot instead of running extra wire from the power distribution board to the large fan? (So can the large fan "piggy back" on the existing wire running to a motor controller)?

1. Yes
2. No. larger fans like that need to be powered directly from the PDB. Only fans that are directly attached to a speed controller (the one on top of the Victor, and the optional one that can be mounted to the top of the Talon) can be powered from the power inputs.

Look at R32.

For #1 you are allowed to.

However for #2 if the fan is not part of a motor controller, a COTS computing device, or the larger ones from the KoP then it must be powered by a motor which is approved as per R32. This motor would need its own motor controller and its own breaker on the PDB.
