Annoying Victor Sound
Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am using java code and getting a really annoying sound from our victors. We use 2 Victors for our drive train and the rest of our robot using Jaguar (no more victors
). When I use the the joystick the victors make a very high pitched sound. I think it only occurs at really low speeds (just touching the joystick pretty much) however it could just be the motors overpowering it later. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. |

Victor 888s right? I'm pretty sure the noise is cause by their operating frequency and is normal.

Re: Annoying Victor Sound
884, 888, no matter. If it is a definite whine, but not really loud (plenty loud enough to hear though) then that's pretty much normal. Try another Victor to be certain.

Re: Annoying Victor Sound
We had a similar whine with the 888s.
The new 888 victors are more sensitive. We re-calibrated the victors and widened the deadband on our joysticks. This forces the joysticks to output 0 when the joystick is not touched. |
