Maxbotix range ultrasonic range sensor problems??
We are trying to use two Maxbotix range sensors with little luck. We have been through the "start-up" guide and we think we have them programed correctly in Labvie, and wired correctly, but our question is where to do they get power from?
We see that they are 5v and we are guessing that power comes from the CRio somewhere but we are not sure where their power comes from either to the sensor or from the CRio. If it is indeed the CRio where do we run the power lines from the PDB? Also we have wired in PWM cables to these sensors, but would they get power from these cables? not sure... Also is there anything on the drivers station we need to do or activate in order to make these work. Thanks so much for being there to help out a rookie team like ourselves. Thanks jalmos |

Re: Maxbotix range ultrasonic range sensor problems??
If they are wired correctly, they have power. If they do not have power, they are not wired correctly. Which is it?
So let's say you have a thing on your robot that needs 5 volts. Think hard: Where can you get THAT from? If you find a spot, try using it. (Hint: If it is at a WAGO connector, keep looking) Quote:
Please try searching ChiefDelphi, using the word "Maxbotix" for a wealth of useful information. Maybe even try the Maxbotix web site? Help yourself by helping yourself. |

Re: Maxbotix range ultrasonic range sensor problems??
Does this sensor get power from the PWM cables or is there an additional power line that needs to be run from the PDB to the CRio?

Re: Maxbotix range ultrasonic range sensor problems??
The 5 volts from the digital I/O pins would be sufficient.

Re: Maxbotix range ultrasonic range sensor problems??
The center pin of the Analog Breakout provides +5 volts, so, assuming you have it wired correctly, it has all the power it needs.
