6V light on side car not on

For some reason or another our 6V power light on our sidecar isnt lit up. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be wrong.

Our robot still drives fine and it seems like everything is hooked up correctly

Re: 6V light on side car not on

The good news is that the 6v are only used to power Servos.

There could be a short inside the Digital Sidecar.
It might be worth opening it up and cleaning out any metal debris.

Re: 6V light on side car not on

I would strongly recommend checking your wago connector that connects the PD board to the digital sidecar. Ensure your wires are properly crimped and inserted with no wire sticking out of the connector. If that doesn't work, I would swap the digital sidecar and try it again.

Re: 6V light on side car not on

Well i read on the FRC forums that all three lights had to be on in order for our indicator light to work (the big orange light connected to the sidecar). For some unkown reason it stopped working and thats the only thing i noticed was wierd with the sidecar

Re: 6V light on side car not on

We did this troubleshooting just last night.

Make sure the ribbon babel to the side car is solid. Replace if necessary.
Make sure the cRIO has power
Remove all connections to the DSC and clear any metal debris
Connect DSC power (should be connected to PDB) and ribbon cable
Check lights on DSC.
Continue adding connections to DSC one at a time until light failure
Investigate problem with last connection added.

Our problem was a two parter; cRIO was not powered (loose power connection would go in and out) and the DIO connection to the compressor pressure switch was wired wrong.
