Team 3038 Full Court Shooter and Climber

We are planning to put a gear tooth sensor to make the shooting WAY more accurate. Our climber is flawless out of the 10-15 matches we played we didnt climb once due to not getting their in time. Also all the shots made are from our robot at the feeder station. Enjoy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7cvh...ature=youtu.be

Sorry for the delay I forgot about the privacy setting on facebook -_- So i uploaded it to youtube.

ALSO:::: Our robot is off screen for the shots its not the red robot. It is the middle robot that hangs unlabeled with blue bumpers .

Re: Team 3038 Full Court Shooter and Climber

Not to ignore your robot which is great, but how accurate was the red robot that was also shooting full-field? I'm interested because if two robots at the same pre-ship competition could do this accurately, it says a lot about how common it might really be this year.

They got 11 shots in the two point goal they were extremely accurate but they have had about 1-2 weeks we get the timing down on their shooter and feeding they dont have any encoders or sensors it just flies straight into the two point shot.

Thanks for the info, sounds like this will be huge at most events.

What was the accuracy of both of those bots, they don't seem very good....

The red one in the camera was 60% id say and ours is really low right now but we are planning on putting a gear tooth sensor and implement a PID loop to get the shooter shooting at the right speed every time

What motors and wheels did you use on your shooter, if you don't mind to answer.

Why run it through the gear box if it's 1-1? Why not run it direct to the wheel?

I don't mean to be a downer, but I didn't see chains on those goals. Do you expect to be as successful with a complete competition goal?

If you come to a FRC event to see a robot competition, you are missing the point.

They had chains on the other side. I dont know if they were legal and we are not to worried about it. We have a very consistent climber which is a plus.

Re: Team 3038 Full Court Shooter and Climber

A little bit of background:

This footage was shot at our week zero. Unfortunately we don't have the money to build a competition-grade field every year (though it's possible that will be coming in the future). I feel a little bit bad that we didn't put chains in the goals, as I have a feeling that that gave a lot of teams the impression that they would be scoring a lot more than they might actually be, similar to bridges last year.

That being said, I have no doubt it was beneficial for all involved to get a chance to try out their robots on a field, even if it wasn't regulation.

Having seen this robot in action, it was pretty solid, especially compared to some of the others at the event. Everyone needed some tuning which is what this was for

We did this to keep the mounting brace we have on our wheel from warping while spinning.

Thank you for the compliments on our robot. We do need some tuning done to our robot. Also Blue Twilight has done an amazing job every year hosting the preship competition. I think I can say we played the most matches at Blue Twilight Event.
