Jaguar can issue

We have an interesting problem maybe someone can help with, our robot has mech wheels and can bus with jags. When we are turning the jag leds quickly strobe between forward and neutral. Several times a second. Anyone ever seen this? We are using from WPI library.

Re: Jaguar can issue

Does this happen if you have the robot lifted off the ground as well?

Do you hear clicking noises from the breakers tripping?

Re: Jaguar can issue

It probably isn't breakers tripping since the status light goes to neutral, not off.

Have you tried a simple program, your program might be resetting it somewhere. Have your program output what it thinks the motor voltage should be.

Is your firmware up to date?

Are you using the serial to jaguar bridge, or a 2can?

Does the driver station report any errors?

Do you have a 100-120 ohm terminator at the end of the chain? If you are using the serial to jaguar interface do you have a terminator on that end as well?

Re: Jaguar can issue

Are you setting the motor in multiple places in the code. For example, is the Set Output function in Teleop and in Periodic tasks? If so, you have two fighting Outputs and the latest one to get called wins.

Re: Jaguar can issue

I personally doubt it's a forgotten end terminator, as that (from my experience) usually manifests as the last Jag flashing yellow (no signal) and all others behaving normally.

This sounds a lot like a code issue. If you have one, grab your serial to CAN cable and BDC-comm the CAN network with a laptop and test each motor individually... if all test good, Something in the code is probably awry (motor being set in two places, etc.).
