Re: Bumpers and withholding allowance

Hi this year our team decided on using reversible bumpers but a little of the other color shows on the internal corner, is this ok?

If you have a rules-related question, don't come here first. That's what the manual is for. Chief Delphi is a great place to talk about robots, strategy, competitions, specific technical questions not related to rules, and emergency issues, but no one on here writes the rules (especially that "PayneTrain" guy... what a weirdo...). Go to the manual for rules-related questions. If it is unclear, check the Q&A. The answers are likely easier to find, already available, and most important of all, official information related to rules and regulations of the current FRC season.

First, welcome to Chief Delphi! Second, read what I told Griffin above and realize that anything I do not specifically cite from the rules or Q&A can help you when pleading your case with an RI or LRI (I know, an engineering student with free time is a rare thing, but I am not a qualified robot inspector like some here, nor am I the rules or Q&A's mouthpiece). Besides, those guys are usually very smart and scary so I just smile and nod when they explain an issue and fix the problems immeadietly

The closest I can get to answering your question in the rules is <R24-D>:
Quote:
The cloth must completely enclose all exterior surfaces of the wood and pool noodle material when the BUMPER is installed on the ROBOT. The fabric covering the BUMPERS must be a solid Red or Blue in color.
With this in mind, I would have to say that you should take time between bag time and practice day to fix that problem. I have seen some teams get away with it, but at best it looks shoddy, and at worst, an inspector will not pass them because the colors are not solid. In a brief Q&A search, I did not find anything specific to your question, so I implore you to go here and ask it.
