Woodie Flowers Question!

Hi Everyone, my students were asking for clarification about the Woodie Flowers award.... They asked me if the reference for any FIRST affiliation could be another mentor on the team or not? Just need some clarification please and thanks!

Re: Woodie Flowers Question!

"Regional WFFA (except District Event Teams) – Each team may nominate one adult member from their team for the WFFA. The adult mentor must be on the same team as the student nominators and only one adult member may be nominated per team. Previous year WFFA winners are not eligible to win the current year WFFA." - WFA Criteria Document

Hope that helps!

On another note, just because you can only formally recognise one mentor through the WFA, doesn't mean you can't recognise the other ones through a different method. We had a really hard time choosing our nominee, and even though our nominee is amazing, we wished we could have nominated all of them. Instead, we held a "thank-you mentors" party one night during the build season.
