Help! Final Hours!

As the last few hours of the build season are spiraling down we, a rookie team, are facing speed bumps that could determine our performance. We need help on how to mount a top heavy vertical flat surface on a flat plane of aluminum. Thank you in advance for your future help.

A picture of what you're trying to do would be helpful. I can't say much without knowing what you want to do but I assume you're mounting some kind of shooter. What sort of material is it built out of? Aluminium tube? C channel? T-Slot?

Just guessing, but it sounds like they're trying to make something that will block frisbees and want to attach it to a flat surface. If so, some angled pieces of 2x4 to act as triangular braces could probably work in the last hour that you have.

Don't forget the witholding allowance... you could bring something to the competition with you and bolt it on there.

To expand on what Jason is pointing out with the specific rule from the game manual.

Quote:
R21

Teams may bring a maximum of 30 lbs of FABRICATED ITEMS to each event to be used to repair and/or upgrade their ROBOT.

For Teams attending 2-Day Events, these FABRICATED ITEMS may be used during the Robot Access Period and/or brought to the Event, but the total weight may not exceed 30 lbs. FABRICATED ITEMS constructed during the Robot Access Period and bagged with the ROBOT are exempt from this limit.

The OPERATOR CONSOLE, BUMPERS, and any ROBOT battery assemblies (as described in R05-A) are exempt from this limit.
