Re: 2073 EagleForce, War Hawk videos

I notice you have 3(?) stacked BaneBots wheels, can you tell me what thickness and diameter those are? We were having some trouble with our wheels and I can't tell from the video whether those are the same ones we have size-wise

Thanks!

Re: 2073 EagleForce, War Hawk videos

2073 makes some of my favorite robots, and is one of the most unfairly underestimated teams in CA. Your shooter is boss, and that auto looks like it's well on it's way to being a force to being reckoned with. I can't wait to compete against (or with) you at Davis. Any plans for a floor pickup?

By the way, can we get one of those sick eagle stickers at Davis?

We abandoned plans for floor pickup in Week 2, which caused a dramatic delay in our build season.

Team 2073 loves Team 100 as well. You guys are great. You have good robots, some of the most gracious and professional team members I have ever met, but they are still really fun. And you host CalGames year after year, and thank you for helping us with our bid packet by the way.

And of course, every team at Sac will get one of our "lucky stickers."

All our shooter wheels are Banebots .5" hex bore, 2 7/8" dia. The thin ones are .4" wide and the thicker are .8" wide.

We use a combination of 3 .4" thick, or 1 .8" and a .4". Either way, the total height is 1.2".
The only real issues we have is they like to creep down the shafts. So, spacers help a lot.

We were using 1 .8" thick wheel per motor (for a 2 wheel linear shooter). Did you notice using a single wheel caused the frisbee to not fully catch on the second wheel in the shooter? (trying to see if thickness is the cause of our shooting problem)

I found that using the VEX Pro 1/2" hex shaft collars worked pretty well in keeping the BB from creeping down.

We never tested with just 1 wheel. If the frisbees jumping up and not fully catching the second wheel, you may have a compression problem. Additionally we have a top plate which help hold the Frisbee down.
