Have you tried to log into the D-Link administration web interface? You might find it's something as simple as having to reload the firmware.

i did that. I loaded the latest firmware from Dlink's website, but to no avail. I still got the red power light of death.

Sounds bad, have you tried a 30-30-30 reset? I actually soft bricked one of my personal linksys WRT54G and WRT310N routers in the past. My issues was due to loss of power during a firmware upgrade (not to mention a bad firmware in the first place). Just a thought, this could be a bad idea if FIRST had loaded in a custom firmware, but I'm doubting that.  Last edited by suj : 22-02-2013 at 21:58.
