Jaguar Firmware Update Issues

[RESOLVED]

[RESOLVED]

[RESOLVED]

Hello!

We are having issues with updating the firmware for outdated jaguars. We are using all black jaguars Every time we open BDC_COMM-107, we immediately receive a message telling us that the program "cannot connect to specified comm port." Additionally, we are unable to change said port through BDC_COMM. When connected to the jaguars they are still flashing yellow. The following has been tried:

- several different black jaguars
- different laptops
- different serial to can cables
- googled to infinity
- different ports on laptops
- Yes, the jaguars are powered

Any input is appreciated.

Thank you

Are your serial ports detected in the windows device manager?

I haven't had luck with BDC-COMM on my Win 7 x64 laptop. That might extend to all Win 7 machines. Have you tried an XP laptop? (Assuming you have access to such an ancient machine.)

I know that we use this serial adaptor and it works just fine with Windows 7 x64, and just about anything else we plug it into. May be worth it if you are having problems now.

Re: Jaguar Firmware Update Issues

I'm using the old orange Vex programming serial adapter. The drivers load fine in Win 7, BDC-COMM just insists that I don't have a serial port on the computer. I'll probably get one of those, though, as it looks a bit more professional and I do have to use this thing for work as well.

Re: Jaguar Firmware Update Issues

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We have found a computer with XP on it and the BDC_COMM-107 tool is now working. Issue resolved.
