Axis Camera Not Displaying

So last week, we tried setting up our axis camera but it wasn't working. Eventually, it was a IP problem which we fixed and when we were done we connected the camera to our robot. In the Driver Station the camera was not displaying anything (we enabled vision on the DS) but we saw the "fps" increase to about 30 and decrease to about 25. It kept changing very fast but we were not getting a image. So we took the camera back and manually configure it. In the Browser we got an image, so we knew our camera was actually working. The weird thing is after we set up our axis camera up(either through the app or manually) and the IP address was changed to 10.28.71.11 we were not able to connect back to it in the browser, we kept getting a error saying how it Timed Out(something like that). Our Labtop had a IP Address of 10.28.71.5 and Subnet of 255.255.255.0 so it wasn't the problem. Even though we weren't able to connect to it we continued on,we finished manually configuring it and connected back to our robot. But again the same problem the fps were changing but still no actual camera image being displayed. We even tried connecting it to different ports in the Dlink. Are we suppose to connect the camera to the cRIO's second port? Does anyone know what might be the problem? Is there any modifications we have to make to the default Vision Processing VI in Labview? The first thing I'd do is to lower the fps or increase the compression, and maybe lower the image size to see if it is just that the router is limiting the bandwidth.

The other thing that has caused this is that an older version of vision was on the laptop and it wasn't licensed. I haven't see this personally, but some teams have uninstalled NIVision and installed the 2013 vision again.

I am confused, what exactly do you mean "2013 Vision again" where would I find the download for the 2013 NI Vision. Our Driver Station has the latest Update.

Do we have to change anything in the default Vision Processing VI? We hadn't even touched it

The NI Vision 2013 is a package that is installed to support the driver station and dashboard. Some teams that had 2012 dashboard on the same computer had an activation issue and it was corrected by an uninstall and install of that component.

I'd try the other dashboard camera settings first.

Greg is talking about the NI Vision package that's part of the LabVIEW DVD that came in the Kit of Parts. The DVD is actually just a collection of different LabVIEW packages and you don't have to reinstall the whole thing. You can tell the installer to leave basic LabVIEW and Real-Time alone and just re-install the NI Vision package.

But first try the easier solution:

• Drop the fps to 10
• Increase compression to 50%
• Drop resolution to 320x240

Watch the Mb/s reading on the Dashboard as well. Any reading over 5 Mb/s can start dropping video.

Now that I'm in school I came to realize that our driver station doesn't have a CD/DVD Drive. So I don't know how to install the Driver Station Vision Update. The latest update that has been installed is this one
I checked all Vision Programs(From NI) on our classmate and the latest one is NI Vision 2011. Wierd because last year we had actual image. So how am I suppose to install the Driver Station Update from the CD that came in the KOP?

The reason why I'm doing this before changing fps and etc is because our robot is already bagged and the camera is inside and theirs no battery inside to actually test it. So I'm doing the VI Vision Package First until I can test Vision at our regional when I change the fps,compression and resolution.

You can copy the contents of the LabVIEW KOP DVD to a memory stick and install from there.
