Re: pic: winning on hanging points

The score was 76 red 60 blue before hanging points. the team did a great job of keeping the 2nd seeded team to a low score so the hanging points would decide the out come. It worked we won.

Re: pic: winning on hanging points

Great job! just a heads up though, the further we get into the season the less likely it will be that this will be possible. There are alliances that are putting up close to 50pts alone in autonomous. If they all hang for ten without scoring very many Frisbees in tele-op they will give you a run for your money. Don't get me wrong a 50 pt hang is still a very powerful tool to have in your arsenal but that's going to be come more and more common as the season progresses.

ahh ha you said that this was the score before the climbing points oh... then awesome!

Yes we know the auto is very important that is why we pick two teammates that was scoring 36 points for us.

I think the game will change a little from the first week.

If you have a climber and then score 4 disc on top for a 50pt score you will win 75% of your matches. now if you get a little help from your teammates and they give you another 25 points you will win 95% of your matches.

I think to have the best team you will have two great shooters that can put up a score of 50 pts each. and a climber that can put up 50 points.

that will give you 150 points. if your climber can play a little defense and keep the other team to lower score you will win everytime.

The most amazing thing is that, other than changing batteries, I don't think 61 (edited) even had to work on their robot. They spent most of the time waiting for the next match. Very impressive and rugged design.

Re: pic: winning on hanging points

did you mean 61. If so then yes. most of the matches we only needed to climb so our robot did not get a lot of work. we only had to play defense in a couple of matches.

Close to 50 points in autonomous? 365, 103, and 2559 put up as many as 66 points in autonomous at Hatboro-Horsham. Both 365 and 103 could load two additional discs from the ground during autonomous.

90 points in auto isn't out of the question. Teams have already demonstrated the ability to shoot 3 & pick up & shoot 2 more from the center -- that's 30. 42 -- shoot 3, pick up the 2 under the pyramid & 2 from in front of the pyramid & shoot them -- has also been done. Add in 18 for another bot that doesn't move. I won't be terribly surprised to see a robot score 50 on its own in auto by the end of the year; it'd take a quicker pickup than we currently have but I think it's quite feasible.

Not to take away anything from the 50-point climb; that's pretty cool. We had a couple of times in Hub City where all 3 robots on an alliance hung, but none for more than 10. Still cool, but not in the same league as this.
