NPT for Robots?

Saw this article and wondered if/when we would see something like this (does it already exist) for our robots?

Re: NPT for Robots?

These types of tires (especially if a soft rubber) would be great for robot game with treacherous terrain. I have been waiting a long time for a field like that though...

Re: NPT for Robots?

1) Most FRC robot wheels are "airless" already.

2) It's not particularly hard to make your own "flat-proof" all-terrain tread for existing wheel hubs.

If you really want the lunar-rover-style tire Polaris will offer, I think it would be a great off-season team research and development project.
