[FTC]: Scoring System Discrepancy

Heads up to the teams that still have tournaments--check your scores! A bug was discovered this last weekend that was causing the software to miscalculate scores and incorrectly call matches. Details are still sketchy but it is not a data entry error and came to light during the second match of the finals. After a tournament winner was declared, no less. Following the "final" match there was a ~30 minute pause and flurry of activity and phone calls to FIRST. It was finally announced that the official scoring system was providing results at odds with the actual score as established in the game manual, that we didn't yet have a winner and that an additional match was needed. It was pretty appalling.

I'm posting this publicly both as a heads up to teams and as an attempt to get FIRST to provide details. This software has been in use since November(?) and I find it difficult to believe that it has not altered the rankings and entire outcome of tournaments.

Wish I could. It was during the finals on a very low scoring match so the discrepancy was apparent. I believe the scoring system was reporting 85-60 in favor of red when it was in fact an 80-80(?) tie. To reiterate, this was not a data entry error and required a call to FIRST to confirm the bug.

Has anyone else encountered a similar situation?
