You're limited to the motors the come in the kit (save the Atwood from last year, I believe), and you're also limited to the number of motors of any given type that come in the kit. Back to the original question, if you're going to be practicing with this robot, it doesn't have to be exact, but exact is always better. As long as the motor is the exact same (except in the case of the Atwood, as I understand it), it's legal on the official robot, no matter where you got it.

I couldn't find an official page for Globe, but it's late, and I'm not really ready to go on a huge hunting expedition.
