Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

At Superior a human player made a throw into the 5pt goal. It was really cool to have watched.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

Our human player managed to make 13 shots over the course of CVR. 5 three pointers, and 8 two pointers, nothing game changing but it may be in the future if the matches are closer.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

There were a few very talented human players at the Greater Kansas City Regional. Lots of incredible shots.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

I'm not certain it's well known, but I'm 90% positive that in the closest high scoring match of the Finger Lakes Regional, the 113:112 match, the Human player from team 250 made two goals!! (I am 100% certain that he made two in a match, and I'm 90% certain I took this photo just after that [he had 3 disks] - just my brain is 10% fuzzy on if it was the same match ) I unfortunately cannot tell from the video posted to TBA if the HP made it... But you can see in the photo before it, he had a stack of 3, and you can see one in the air from the other HP (which I think you see the other kid throw in the TBA video) - and none are visible on the ground in front of the red goals... so even if he made 1/3, he still technically "won" the match for the team I remember him being very good, so it wouldn't surprise me! Unfortunately that alliance lost the next two matches, so I guess he didnt change the fate of the Regional

If that isn't inspiration to get out there and practice your hammer throws, Im not sure what is!!

All in all, I was incredibly impressed with a lot of the HP's at Finger Lakes - there were several that could make at least one in a match! And I wouldnt be surprised if there were more stories from there of HPs winning the matches. I hope to see more great HPs at upcoming events!

We had that happen once at Northern Lights. I pumped my fist to cheer - but since I was a ref at the time it looked like I signaled a red foul...

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

In Orlando finals, match 2: 744 79 and 1772 won by 2 points (97-95), pushing it to a rubber match. The human players made one 3 point and one 2 point shot in this match. This alliance then went on to win the third match and the regional. Talk about clutch!

Note: I'm not sure which human player or which two human players scored the shots. But I will throw in a shameless plug for 744's, because he has some amazing accuracy!

Watching your alliance HP hit those was awesome.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

In Finals 3 at WPI, our HP made a 3-pt shot that (had one of our robots been called as hanging rather than not because of a frisbee beneath a robot) would have won the regional for us.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

I definitely saw some human players drill 2 disks pretty often and I even saw some hit the 5 point pyramid goal! That was definitely really impressive

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

A human player at the KC regional actually made a red frisbee into the pyramid goal. Not actually winning but did get us 5 points. The team was 967.

Re: Human player changing the fate of a game?

At greater Kansas city my team was down by 11, we got our 10 pt climber at last second, and at 2 seconds I hit a 2 pointer making us win, I'm not even a frisbee player and at one point I was hitting a 2 pointer a match, I think the human player could determine lower scoring matches in future matches.
Also I almost made the pyramid 4 times during kc, best to hit it low.
But i also saw that a lot of larger scoring games were won by more than 10
