Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Any info on the score change in match 25? It's a pretty drastic change. I wasn't able to watch it, so I have no idea what happened. Penalties?

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
The Blue Alliance's discs were scored as Auton discs instead of teleop. It was just a simple mistake by the scoring table and was corrected quickly.

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Sadly 364 lost due to comm issues and not enough penalty points. In our pivotal match to move on to the semi-finals our alliance member 2992 lost comms and couldn't get to the pyramid to climb for 50 points. I did not see any comm issues until that time of the tournament. Many mentors are infuriated because we believe that the issues were caused by an outside source.
Also, many penalties were not counted. We were hit, smashed, and pushed all around the field including while we were in our protected areas. We were once pushed down the field sideways for about 10 seconds. The most penalty points we were awarded was 12 which accounts for 4 penalties if I'm mistaken. There were more penalties than that. Just my two cents, but I just believe that we should have went on. Last edited by Landonh12 : 24-03-2013 at 09:51. |

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Congrats to 1912 for winning FOUR consecutive chairman's at Bayou !
Bayou had some of the most fierce defensive play I've seen this year. 1421 showed that you can beat a great scorer like 118 with a mix of defensive play and a reliable 50 point climb & dump strategy. I hope bayou gets archived on blue alliance, I would like to watch a couple of those elimination rounds again. |

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Everyone is so gracious to 1912, we are so appreciative.
We have had a lot of help to get where we are, many times I feel we are the extremely lucky recipients of a great region where so many work together to make FIRST happen. If I started naming names, I would never finish. Thank you seems so small, but thank you. But we have lost a lot this year. Our region is "Remembering Kimmy". We lost Kimmy Melton this year, a wonderful high school senior from Team 456. Please keep the Melton and 456 family in your hearts. |

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
No rule against that, it's called defense. If you were able to be pushed down the field, then by definition you weren't pinned - you could have driven backwards away from them and gone another direction.

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Does anyone have any footage of Finals Match 2? I remember 1421 being aggressively bashed around by all 3 members of the opposing alliance inside its own pyramid and only being awarded 15 foul points (IIRC just touching the opposing alliance while they're touching their own pyramid is grounds for 30 foul points) bringing the final score 118-120, and had they been awarded more foul points they would have won the competition in a surprising upset (I mean, they would have beaten 118, a severe beast of a robot who dominated Lone Star).

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
They can be hit inside their pyramid as much as anyone wants to as long as they do not make contact with the pyramid.

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
My dad video'd every match that 3753 played except for Finals-3 (my mom apparently knocked over the camera -.-)
Once he's processed them, I'll be sure to upload them to our website (bulahbots.com) CONGRATS to 1912!!! Y'all are awesome, and even two years after y'all helped us off our feet, we still talk highly about y'all almost every day. Can't wait to meet up with y'all again in St. Louis! |

Re: 2013 Bayou Regional
Thank you to everyone that made the 2013 Bayou regional a great success. I was so glad I was I able to bring the rest of my team along this year to compete.
Thank you to 233 and 1912 for being fantastic alliance partners. Pink(233), some people thought we were crazy for taking you so high but the mantra of "Pick Pink" was true again. How you are able to get things working by eliminations is just uncanny, once that center line auto gets faster you all are going to be tough. Good Luck at SVR. Combustion(1912) what can I say. You were easily a first round robot that fell through the cracks, we were thrilled to add you to our alliance. You were awesome to work with and did everything that was asked of you. You put so many discs into the two point goal that you finally broke it in our last match. Congratulations on your 4th Chairman's Award you're an inspiration to so many teams and a big part of what is making your region strong. Congratulations to Scott Kent for the Dean's list Finalist and Wendy Holladay for the WFFA. Congratulations to 3753, 118, and 4589 you were a tough alliance and you fought through some serious challenges to make it to the top, great job. 1421 your robot is just fantastic. I don't think it's been mentioned yet but that buzzer beater dump in F-2 is #1 on my list of top plays for the year. Nothing has gotten me up out of my chair faster than that. Great job and good luck at Razorback. Scott, James and the rest of 1477. You have a great machine but an even better team. Thursday night you were basically an extension of the inspection crew making sure all the teams that needed assistance had it and would be ready to play on Friday, you did an unbelievable job several teams would not have been playing Friday morning without your help. Chuck, Eddie, Amy and all of 456. Every time I get to work with your team I'm even more amazed. Your robot was so high quality this year and the innovation in control award couldn't have gone to a more deserving team. You have been through a tough year but watching you at the event you couldn't tell. We are thinking of Kimmy and we wish you all the best. Spectrum is looking forward to next time we can come play at the Bayou. |

You don't remember correctly. Touching an opponent who's in contact with their pyramid is a 3 point penalty. If the contact is "consequential," it is a technical foul (20 pt). Only if the contact interferes with an attempt to hang are 30 climb points awarded (not foul points). |

And, of course, thank you 3847 Spectrum! You were great alliance captains and always had a clear, winning strategy. Looking forward to seeing you at bayou next year!

It was great to be a part of this alliance, thanks for going with PINK. (3847 and 1912) It's always a good experience to attend new regionals, meet new teams - I was surprised so many teams from Florida were there! The robot parade was cool and the 2nd line dance...we learned some Bayou traditions. Congrats to 1912 on Woodie Flowers Award (after meeting and talking with you Wendy, you definitely deserved it) and on winning the Chairman's Award once again. |
