I know for a fact that 3999 is submitting. Will 624 be submitting?

Yes! Unfortunately due to student leadership conflicts, 624 chose to present their chairman's submission at Alamo instead of Lone Star this year. Now the surprise is ruined

2789 is also submitting at Alamo, Good Luck to everyone going for the award!

As an aside, Team Appreciate won the award at Hub City, and I for one am glad they submitted there, their video was awesome & inspiring!

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

I'm nearly certain that 57 is competing in Chairman's at Alamo.

Also darn the luck on 624 and 1477 not qualifying. I was hoping for a longer list of wildcard teams at Alamo, but alas. Guess we'll have to do it the hard way.

Side note: Thanks to an exciting work emergency, I'm flying straight from Brazil to San Antonio compete with you people, so you'd better put on a good show. Or take it easy on the guy that just got off a red-eye. Whichever you prefer.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

Does anyone have a rough estimate on how many discs 1477 was scoring during autonomous and teleop in the elims? I wasn't able to watch the bayou eliminations until the finals this past weekend.

From watching Bayou, they still score their 3 in auton and near end of quals and all elims, they were working a floor pick up for the last 6 secs. They still score a good amount in teleop. They were making at least 3/4 a run with about 3-4 runs a match.

If they get that working and 624 continues with their 7? disc autonomous, Alamo is going to be in for a show if those two get together.

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

Wow, what an incredible tournament! There were so many great teams and inspiring stories of teams helping each other.
2468 would especially like to thank our alliance partners 4063 and 2789, who were the reason we were able to advance and win finals. You were both under rated but you could not hide how amazing you are, 4063 with 3pt teleop shooting awesomeness and 2789 who is definitely one of the top defensive teams in the world. The fact that this is your second gold and you already got a silver is astounding and proves your abilities.
#hubcityredemption
We also want to recognize our new friends teams 1592 and 801. We were very short handed on scouting and without them we would not have been able to record data and make the selections we did. Our members quickly became close with theirs, and while it was awesome to see 801 advance to finals, it was unfortunate we had to be on opposing alliances. Still, I am glad to know that we will see them soon in St. Louis.
Finally, we want to give a shout out to our 4 FTC teams. While we were happy to see you all qualify at district, we were even happier to see three of you in division finals and one win Innovate. And we certainly could not contain our joy when they announced that the Pi Rho Maniacs won Inspire and would go to St. Louis with us and our friends.
624 and 1477 also deserve the respect of all FRC. Everyone knows of the incredible robots you built and can't wait to see what you come up with next year.
Thanks to all teams competing (even those with "unappreciator" blocking mechanisms ). See you all next year!

Since Lone Star we know that our dream alliance would be 2468 and 4063 because of the fact that you both built good robots that played the game differently and because you play smart and hard. The small pyramid shooter/full-court shooter/defensive bot combo is how we won at Lone Star, and it seemed to be the perfect combo at Alamo as well! Thanks to both your teams for giving us the opportunity to share this victory with you! See you in St. Louis!

I would also like to thank Jess, Patrick Felty, Sarah Le, and all the inspectors and cueing volunteers. The regional ran smoothly, and y'all did a great job of coordinating all of the action in front of the curtain as well as getting help to teams in need behind the scenes.

I would also like to send a shout out to Kris Verdeyen and his mad announcing skills, and thanks to RoboGreg for putting up with my Steelers jabs & holding up all the ridiculous signs my team made!

Re: 2013 Alamo Regional

I was just inspecting at the event but it was one of the most memorable events in recent history.

4603 had their robot stolen during shipment and so many teams worked together to get them not only a running robot, but a shooting and hanging robot. 3481 helped them at their shop before the event. 1592 and 801 gave them their spare hangers. 2587 donated their shooter. 2587 and 1592 ended up picking 4603 for the eliminations which is just an awesome story. I know many more teams helped them but those are the ones I know about.

I want to thank all the out of town teams for being great representatives of FIRST. 801 and 1592 were fine examples of FIRST teams, they quickly became two of my go to teams to get help for teams in need. They also provided a steady stream of jumpers to get all the teams sending battery voltage back to their driver station. Thank you guys and please come back often.

1987 congratulations on the Chairman's Award win. Your team is just awesomely nice. Every interaction I had with your students and mentors was just really pleasant. Your students are always willing to help and are extremely respectful. Thank you for being awesome and I hope to see you at more Texas events in the future.

1477 thank you for your help getting teams through inspection. I love working events where your competing because you always make my Thursday night easier. I know that all your students will be working with the teams that haven't gotten through inspection yet. Also your robot was awesome the whole regional. The industrial design award is very well deserved and your ability to improve through out the season is so impressive. I can't wait to play with you again during the off-season.

Congratulations 2468, 4063 and 2789. 2468, I'll admit that I wasn't a believer in the full court shooter but you guys played a very impressive full court cycle game, it kept the defense on you but ineffective and left 4063 completely open to run their game. TriKzR4Kidz, 4063, I told you at the event and I'll say it again you all are going to be the first real powerful team from the south of Texas if you keep on the track that you are on. From your infectious image to your extremely gracious behavior and actions your going to be in the mix at every event that you go to. I was thrilled that you got the GP award again, very well deserved. 2789 great job once again, your driving and strategy seems to step up to a new level during eliminations.

3478 congratulations on the Engineering Inspiration award, great job. You all are fine representatives to spread FIRST and STEM through out your country.

Thanks to everyone for making Alamo an awesome event. I can't wait till next year.

This story and the 1592/801 car accident, robots wrecked, everyone stepping in to help and making the Eliminations at the Orlando Regional are the stories that I share with people who ask why I participate in FIRST.
